Artisan Jay Bernard is owner of Faux Decor and his designs are much more then ordinary faux finishes - They are where Imitation and Innovation meet.

Imitation is faux, because faux is (French for “false”). These  effects make surfaces look like something they’re not, for example; leather, stone, plaster, marble, wall paper etc.  Jay and his team combine their  knowledge and experience of this time-honored and respected art form to custom develop and produce for each client practical finishes for every-day living as well as the unique and artistic.

Innovation is faux as art.  When less is more, Jay and his team  create commissioned wall art pieces for those customers who what the warmth, artistry, diverse and complex looks that faux design offers, just not everywhere. Jay along with his Artisan team create unique faux embellishments, when added to faux finishing helps decorative design go from good to great.  Jay also offers his trademarked and renowned “the real side of faux” designs, (3D faux sculpted embellishments).

Jay studied the art of faux finishing among other places at the Finishing School of New York, and returns frequently to hone his skills. 

Jay also studied color design, composition, mural painting and design artistry at the Cleveland Institute of Art, and uses these skills to workshop throughout the United States with top artisans whenever possible.

Whether he is creating designs for leading wallpaper design producers using paints, glazes and textures, or working behind the scenes teaching other artisans, Jay Bernard is a leader in the designer wall finishing industry, helping his clients and interior design professionals achieve desired results.

Jay’s color selection and composition skills are widely acknowledged, as is his talent for transforming spaces into elegant showrooms and exciting places live and work. Jay’s master finishes go beyond the usual parameters of traditional faux finishing and even the limitations of fine wallpapers. Faux Décor is a connective Faux Design Company of top faux finishers serving the Nashville Tennessee area homeowners.  Rick has lived in the Nashville area for more than 20 years with 9 years of professional decorative painting experience. Rick was an understudy to master faux artisan Martin Allen Hirsch of the Faux Finish School and Studied under National award winner Gary Lord of Prismatic Painting Studio.
